The new Horse Meadow Senior Center opened in August 2000 to serve older members of communities throughout the Haverhill area. The new center was designed to provide a wide range of programs in an attractive and welcoming setting. Haverhill Area Senior Services' Advisory Council worked for years to bring all of its services under one roof and to expand its programs to meet the needs of the area. This was made possible by community Development Block Grant funds as well as contributions from more than 200 individuals and businesses within the community.

Haverhill Area Senior Services provides at Horse Meadow Senior Center:

• Congregate meals every weekday
• Home delivered meals every weekday
• Transportation with lift-equipped bus every weekday
• Social Worker available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Adult Day Care available Monday,Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• RSVP office
• Long-distance medical transportation thanks to the generosity and dedication of community volunteers.
• Computer Lab

The new center includes a library, exercise equipment, shuffleboard, a piano and an organ, and space for other activities and continuing education programs.
